Scale Slot Car Racing

Magnets are for Motors!

My LMP cars

Nissan R 390 - Team Slot

No it's not the Slot.it car!....This is a resin shell model. The chassis has been modified to accept a Ninco NC5 motor with Slot.it gears, axle and bearings. The front end is standard Team Slot. Rear Wheels are Slot.it "Big Hubs" with Ortman tyres.

ROC Reynard 2KQ VW - MTR32

This car is from Milan Tomasek's range and features a lexan shell built onto a PCB chassis. The chassis has been modified to convert the car from a pin guide to a TSRF Fly/Scalex replacement unit. Braids are Parma. The motor has been changed from a Falcon to a Slot.it 25K V12/2 also changed are the axles and hubs for Slot.it components. The original MTR32 wheel inserts were modified to fit the Slot.it wheels. Rear tyres are Ortman and fronts are standard MTR32 hard foam.

Lola B98/10 - Fly

This car is standard apart from the rear tyres which are Ortman.

Cadillac Northstar - SCX

This car is standard apart from the rear tyres which are Ortman.

Audi R8 Coupe - Slot.it

Standard car apart from Ortman rear tyres.

Toyota GT1 - Topslot

This car has a resin shell from Topslot, mated to a Proslot chassis. The shell was built and painted by Russell Sheldon and given to me as a gift. The chassis is modified to include a Slot.it motor pod. Motor is a Slot.it V12/2 25K unit, gears and axles are also Slot.it.  Rear wheels are NSR, front wheels and inserts are Carrera. Guide is TSRF. The chassis and running gear competed in the 2006 Race Across America Proxy Series, coming 8th in class.

Dome Judd - SCX

This car was a very poor performer when I first got it. I have modified the chassis by fitting a Slot.it inline motor pod complete with Slot.it 25K V12/2 motor. Slot.it pinion, crown, axles and big hub wheels were also used. Rear tyres are Ortman, front tyres Slot.it zero grips. The original rear wheels were cut down and used as inserts.

Lola BRK/10 - Spirit

I purchased this car from Ebay for the sum of £9-50p. A real bargin.
The car is standard with the exception of the rear tyres which are Ortmans.

Joest Porsche LMP - Fly

I bought this car at a Swindon Swapmeet for £15, the car did have several problems, in that it was very noisy and had problems with the front wheels rubbing on the bodywork.
I replaced the back axle, bearings ,Spur gear and back wheels with Slot.it items and replaced the front stub axles with  a solid front axle and fitted Slot.it zero grip tyres. Ortmans are fitted to the rear wheels and the original wheels cut down and used as inserts. This has cured the problems and the car is now very fast and quiet.

Audi R8 - Carrera

I bought this car together with the Bentley as part of one of the sets sold by Argos for £20. I sold everything but the cars to a guy in Bratislava for £20 so I got the cars for free!.
The awful Carrera guide has been changed for a Ninco Sprung unit and the rear tyres changed to Ortmans.

Zytec B/10 - Sloter

This car is completly standard.

Porsche RS Spyder - Carrera

This car featured one of the new Carrera guide, which means you can't use it on Scalex Sport track or my own wooden track.
In order to overcome the problem I came up with a new guide mount which utalises the Ninco Sprung Guide.
Full details of the conversion can be found here:-
http://www.freewebs.com/atadd/carreraporschers.htm
The only other change to the car is the use of Ortman rear tyres.

Bentley EXP 8 - Carrera

The other "set car" from the Carrera set I purchased. This car is standard apart from Ortman rear tyres and Slot.it zero grip fronts.

Lister Storm - Scalextric

Standard Car apart from rear Ortman tyres.

MG Lola - Scalextric

Standard Car with rear Ortmans.

Reynard 2KQ - Spirit

Another car I picked up from Ebay. This time it cost me £12. The car has Ortmans on the rear and a tendancy to lose it's rear wheels!. It needs replacements and a little sorting.

Audi R10 - Carrera

The "sister" car to the Porsche RS Spyder. The same modifications have been carried out to this car as to the Audi.

Cadillac Northstar - Scalextric

Standard car with the exception of rear Ortmans.

BMW V12 - Carrera

The car has a modified chassis to accept a Slot.it inline motor pod. A Sun "green endbell" motor is fitted together with Slot.it axle and gears.
Wheels are Slot.it with Team Slot front tyres and Ortman rears. Guide is TSRF.

Ferrari 333SP - SCX

This car has a modified chassis to accommodate a standard Scalextric Mabuchi. The standard Scalextric pinion runs in a Slot.it crown wheels. Rear tyres are Ortman.

Panoz LMP - Fly

Standard car apart from rear Ortmans.

Riley & Scott Mk IIIC Lincon - MTR32

Another of Milan Tomasek's fine cars. Chassis modified to accept a Scaleauto 29K Black Can Motor.Slot.it gears, axle and rear hubs used. The original wheels were cut down and used as inserts.
